Question about timeframe

Hey Brian,

I was wondering what a VERY loose time frame might be for a stable, public release of this. Something we could use in our production sites, and import stuff to, without having to worry about core code and templates changing, and of course security and functionality being as tight as possible.

As it is developing now, I see using this to completely redo my site. 5-7,000 entries of different sorts getting entered or imported before a launch. Multiple sets of templates will need to be modified on my end, and as we know, when you upgrade they don't always cross over. So, I dont want to dig into that until it is stable.

I know everyone is waiting for BETA 2, but I've already accepted I'll be waiting past that. How long is what I'm wondering.

Well, this is what we're shooting for... I'm trying to work in as many feature requests as possible and fix all currently known bugs by beta 2. After beta 2 is released, then beta 3 should consist of any remaining necessary features and another round of bug fixes. Hopefully the number of remaining features and bug fixes for beta 3 will be less than beta 2, and result in a quicker time frame for release. Assuming all goes well and according to plan, then we should be able to publically release an RC version after beta 3. Of course things such as this are subject to change at any time though depending on the number of bugs, features, and etc.

Sounds good. So, maybe late spring for full fledged digging in?

I was kind of hoping to have things ready for the public more towards the end of April. So if things go the way they usually do, we should be looking at the first public version around the end of May. ;)
