Something is wrong at http://clnews.org/index.php
Ok I'm a newbee, so last week I hired a person to make a skin, install it and install vBadvanced. Then we had a falling out over some trivial thing. I feel that now I can manage the forum and site. But things don't seem to work.
I can't get the "welcome block" and the "news archive" modules to come up. I've tried for three days and read a lot of threads... no dice.
Also the "recent threads" module showing a wrong forum, the ones I selected for "News" and the "news" module showing the threads I selected for "recent threads". This is madding as I've played with over twenty attempts to get this strightened out. Could it be that there is a deeper command rule that forces the latest threads to "recent threads" overriding the selection. BTW the "news'" module is pointed to a forum that is driven by RSS feeds. They are recent, but because their RSS they NOT being picked out?
I was able to create a center "Purpose Statement " block and get it to come up with two attempts.
In reading these forum support threads I noticed that some advice is to reload a module. Now because I had a third party install vBadvanced, I don't have the program on my C drive.
Question: Is it on the server?
Could that person NOT have loaded every thing? (In an effort to get more money from me?)
I also notice that even though I log-in there is never any user name that comes up in the corner, although the other little box does show I'm a member on the board, but there is NO log out button on the far right of the horizontal nav bar? So whats with that?
Thanks
