Just wanted to give some more feedback.

This is not a pressure thread at all. Just my current situation. I am basically in need of this type of system for about 3 sites, possibly 4. All of which have potential that if its right, will allow us to excel above our competition. As it is developing, it looks like it will work perfectly for articles. So that's good. This allows us to enter reviews, press releases, character bios, summaries. All good.

However, what we really want to use it for is a "front page deilvery system". An ability to have categories and sub categories, sidebar blocks, like the articles usage, and then pulled onto a start page, which would be our main page for the whole website.

In order for us to do that, I think after looking around, and focusing on what is needed a bit more, that the suggestion at the end of the post in quotes is absolutely iimperative for us to use it as such.

I will not be installing it for use on the front page until/unless this gets put in some how. Our content/article usage other than daily front page entries is secondary in concern. And we wont be having personal blogs at all.

This idea is partially done in the VB/Wordpress hack currently availble or VB.Org. That is buggy. I think it utilizes RSS per thread technology and pulls it back into the wordpress post below the article entry. I would be completely fine with that here as well. We just need the options when creating an article to:

1. Create new thread in X forum, first post is copy of/link to article being submitted.
2. Enter thread id of existing thread.
2-A. - Choose to include or exclude first post of existing thread (not imperative to get this working, but useful) in comments list.
3. Use Blogicles comment system.

If this can not be done by BETA 3 or RC Versions, or ever due to it not being something you want to do, then it would be nice to know, even via private PM. If it is not, I really need to get going on a non-VB CMS bridge. And if that is the case, and it works well, that may then cover our articles angle, making Vblogicles unnecessary unfortunately.

Hope that doesn't sound too pissy, or add any stress. I just really think that you are like 90% of the way to EXACTLY what we need, and I think a lot of others need (even if they dont know it yet). This is the core functionality of a CMS, and you would be the first to offer it. Blogs are already "old hat", key is content and easy creation of/presentation of it. IMHO that is.

Articles - Ability to enter a URL or thread ID
Imortance: Medium (BUT REALLY WANT IT)

Ability to enter a URL or thread ID to an already ongoing discussion in the forums. With a magic wand, it would pull the posts into this as comments, and when clicking reply, take you to that thread to post replies from there. Choose "create thread for comments" - Creates thread with article as first post, and uses replys from there as comments. *(I think the VBDrupal system tries to do this, just never worked properly for me).
If nothing like that checked, uses Vblogicles comment system.

Most of my daily news comes from the forums. Right now, we have to create a thread in a closed forum that shows up on front page, so it is formatted properly and credited to staff, and manually link to the thread the members created with the original news and discussion. The above scenerio would knock that out, and be AWESOME.

I can definitely see how an option like that would be useful for some users. I have added this to my to-do list and will *hopefully* be able to work it into beta 3.
