What the possiblity of also allowing the person edidting their own post in the showentry.php level to also be able to edit the timestamp there also?

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking... Do you mean the ability for users to edit the date of posts in the same way they can entries?

When I say show entry I am referring to the actual post and the replies that go with it. We are still trying to decide how we are going to make this work on our web site and playing around with different options. This software has given us so many variables, which is a good thing. One of our thoughts is maybe doing it this way.

Setting up a forum as a member’s category so that a user can post their blogs to it and then that way all their blogs are grouped together.

With that in mind we are also thinking of setting it up so that only the blogger is the only one that can reply to their own blogs. If we do it this way it will act as a sort of sub-forum. So for every blog they create in the member’s category another layer of blogs can go under it.

So lets say were setting this up so that it is a hiking blog and this week I am going to hike the Florida Trail. I would post to my members category and submit and entry and title it "Florida Trail”. Now if I set it up so that only the blogger can reply to it then that blogger can click on Post Reply and submit an entry for each day he hiked that trail. He could have four days or maybe two weeks worth of entries. If he puts one in the wrong order he could fix it, if the timestamp was editable in there.

Now next month or sometime later I am going to hike the Virginia Trail. So I could submit another entry titled “Virginia Trail” and do the same thing, if we do it this way then a users could have in multiple blogs. If we decide to use it this way, which sounds promising.

I hope this made some sense to you.

To add reason for making a timestamp editable in showentry this would explain more.

If we created a forum that was not a members category and a user created a thread in that category and we set it so that only users and reply to their own post then that thread would turn into a blog and all the entries under it would all fall under the same thread making it the users own blog in a way. If you could edit timestamps then if you made a mistake placing the blog entry in the wrong order you could correct it.

Of course there would probably have to be an option in the admin so that not everyone could edit the timestamp in case some did not want to use the blogs in this manner. The option would probably have to be something like this.
Allow others to edit timestamp.

Makes sense... Though all you really had to say was "I'd like for users to be able to edit the time stamp of posts the same way they can with entries". :p
That's been added to the to-do list though. :)

Sorry I had to make it more difficult. I figured if I did not give you a good explanation you would not do it.

No apology needed. I was just trying to save you a little time from having to type out a long explanation for any future ideas. :)
