Better Organization of User Upload Folders

I'm rather annoyed at the current structure of how folders and subfolders are setup personally. If my ID was 159, I hate going to /1/5/9/. It's a bit of a pain, and becomes especially painful in the long run with lots more users running in and out.

I was hoping to see a restructuring to it, like maybe based on the user's username or maybe grouping groups by ids by 100s.

It's setup that way to prevent problems that can occur when you end up with too many sub-folders within a folder. It's not the easiest to navigate, but I wouldn't think there would be much need to browse those folders.
