Does this update speed up loading times on the Forum Integration script?

What I mean is, on my front page: http://www.crookedjester.com/
This is not an integrated script, it is the VBa CMPS index page and you will notice that it loads extremely fast...

However, if you go to any page that has the integration built into it... such as:
http://www.crookedjester.com/showthread.php?t=1313
You will notice that it takes an excedingly long amount of time to load the page. This is most likely due to the fact that the integration wraps the entire page into a single table, instead of doing individual divs which would have let each post show up procedurarly. Since it is all in a single table, the entire page must be processed before it displays on screen instead of a gradual display.

Yes, i have the same exact problem but not just now, even with the old way of integrating colums to cmps pages or other pages ...

Especially on IE. It's just way too slow.

Does this version enable admins/mods to mark certain threads as NEWS threads within the regular vb editor and thus easily display them on the main page... instead of doing all this through the backend module settings?

That's my major concern...

Would it be possible to use the template reversion system within VB when you make future template changes? I need to go back and manually fix some of my custom templates.
That should already work...

Also, I don't seem to understand the Integration system. Where do I create a custom content module? I have done this before but now I do not see an option for a custom content module in the module list.
You don't create it anywhere. When you add a new CMPS page, you will see it already active in the Active Modules section.

Finally, is it possible to change the name of the latest post/threads module on a per page basis?
Sorry, but there is not a default option for that.

Sorry, but specific threads are still chosen through the Admin CP.

Either it doesn't work or I am not following you. I go to the Integration page and it tells me I have no valid pages with a custom content module, so I click the link in the message and create a new page. When I am creating the new page I do not see any option for the custom content module.

Let me know what I am doing wrong.

Thanks!

Quick one, is it okay to update this then vB to the latest version.

Or update vB first then this?

Running 3.6.4

Okay, have this installed on a few forums running VB3.6.7. The mini calendar which was working perfectly before, is now only showing birthdays. if you set it to a calendar that doesn't have birthdays, then you see nothing.

trana - When you first go to add the new page, the "Custom Page Content" module should already be active and should be the only one listed in the "Modules Enabled" section.

Reece - If you're already running vBulletin 3.6.x, then it will not matter which order you upgrade in. If you were running vB 3.5.x, then you would have to upgrade to vB 3.6 before upgrading the CMPS.

Kahuna900 - Please start a new thread in the CMPS 3.0 Troubleshooting forum and be sure to include a link to your site.

If you're running 1.0.0 then you need to upgrade to vB 3.6 first, and then upgrade the CMPS as you normally would.

Great, thanks for the info! I will be upgrading my forums this weekend. I just wasn't sure if I could upgrade from 1.0.0 straight to 3.0....sounds like I should be able to! Thanks again for all your hard work and support!

Sorry, but specific threads are still chosen through the Admin CP.

Did you plan at all to implement that feature into future vba versions, and if yes, when?

why define('NO_REGISTER_GLOBALS', 1); is still included?

I updated it to 3.6.7

but I didn't like the interface.. may be I am not used to it.. previously when I used to Edit Module it would show me that exact locations of my contents as home page.. but this time I got lost....

Can't we get back the homepage similarity in the vbcmps admin?

just downloaded and will be trying it out :D

Just wondering.. at RC1, are you guys just fixing bugs and optimizing before the Final version comes out? and do you have any particular estimate of when? or roughly atleast..?

I have the same problem it takes 5 seconds to load showthread page with vba wrapping around it. Because of this I uninstalled it.

I think I made a mistake,
-Read the Instructions
-Decided to Uninstall v2.x before upgrade
-vBA CMPS never disappeared from the left pane
-Uploaded all the Files
-Chose UPGRADE option
-Looks totally different!
So I don't know if I do something wrong, since it works, but can't find any option on the 'PLUGIN MANAGER'
Where do I uninstall? does it have the option to uninstall? [and where]

I got a problem with this version.

I made one thread to be appear in the CMPS home but when I tried to remove it its still there.

I mean when I removed it from cmps admin page shows the thread.

Ultimatel I had to remove that module which was used for displaying the thread.

Did anyone encounter this problem?

Well since I can't find the UNINSTALL option, I guess something is wrong... Am I right?

The 'Uninstall' option appears when vBA is already installed, and you then run the install script. It is at the bottom of the list of options that then appear.

I meant, the v2.x was listed in PLUGIN MANAGER, and I can't see v3.x there... it's installed now, but IF I need to uninstall... where?

Problems / Questions
If you have any problems or questions regarding the release or installation, please create a new thread in the CMPS 3.0 support forums (http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=136).

Suggestion, Brian:

Devise a script that will detect a support question in this thread and initiate your above response, preceeded by a sound bite of Officer Mick Belker yelling, "Pay attention, dirtbag..." And then, of course, followed by his signature growl.

:D

You're old enough to remember that, aren't you? ;)

Ok solved all my problems...
uninstall, then reinstall...

the last time I:
- uninstall v2.x and because the whole product never disappeared I decided to upgraded, then I couldn't find nothing on PLUGIN MANAGER :p

Awesome update I must say. :)

I am now running CMPS 3.0RC1 with Vbulletin 3.6.8, and did not have any issues whatsoever. Took me a little bit to figure out where some options were, but wasn't hard to run with it.

(I had CMPS 2.2 with 3.6.5 installed previously btw)

Thanks again for all your hard work!

You are more than welcome to take a gander at my website :)

I don't think it has the functionality, thought it did at first but don't think it does now.

No way to grant certain user groups permissions to just edit certain pages only do you?

Example say I create a page as the main admin for the site. I want certain user groups to have permission to edit their own and only their own page.

So they could go into the admin panel to cmps, add modules to only their page and not have permission to do anything with modules on other peoples pages?

I asked something similar early in the year but you did this upgrade since then so checking to see if that functionality is in. Haven't used cmps or vb for that matter in a good bit.

Brian

No, there is not an option to allow certain groups to edit specific CMPS pages.

Might want to keep that as an option in a future release.

Say you want to have a site that deals with several different sports for example, and you want several different people to each run their own sport site, but you don't want to give these people total control of the site by basically being able to go in and kill all the site content.

Each user it is almost like having their own website being that they can control the content on their own web page.

I personally believe this would be a very popular feature for some of the larger websites.
