I would like a module that I can advertise something my members can sign up for - and they can commit to the event or group purchase by a single click, and their name will be displayed as committed.

Can anyone help me?

There are a few options which may suit you over at vb.org...now they are not out and out membership hacks and certianly not cmps modules.

I am presently working on a very bespoke membership area for my site, only bespoke as I'm speccing as I go along.

Your request is on my horizon for addition to our site. I'll happly share what I've done when I've done it.

Re the event click to show, this is available over at vb.org making use of VB's calendar, have a look and see if that helps. Another easy to use option and it can be embedded as a module fairly easily is that of the generic form again at vb.org.

Using the generic form you could easily set this to accept entries for the group buy by way of the form, which on submission will either PM, Email, Post new or reply threads or all of the above. I have used some of that to fasttrack some signup processes.

If it were me I'd start by looking at those two hacks and see what evolves.

Regards,
Colin.

Actually, I kinda want to use CMPS because it should be simple to use this for anything I like, be it an event, or a group purchase. Kind of a template I can change to suit my needs at the time. Easy to use and one system for all my needs.

Have a good look at the generic form hack...>5 mins and it's a module you can do just that with...I posted about changing the STANDARD_ERROR as that was the worst bit of it. It's not perfect, but thats because it's generic.

All of what I am doing is embedded in the CMPS system where possible.
