Try reuploading the default files (the hacked ones) and just run the install.

You dont need to edit ANYTHING in the install file, and the install file should just work regardless.

If you are still having a problem make a support ticket, reupload all the original files if possible (just the vBulletin ones)

I am getting a similar message:
Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /www/a/angelin/htdocs/forums/includes/functions.php on line 1887

Tried to post a support ticket, but can't get into VBulletin to add new user without undoing all the file mods... :(

Never mind... I redid all the changes in WordPad instead of Dreamweaver and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks for an awesome hack!

I am getting the exact same error as swanny. What did you do to fix this? I have completed the whole process 3 times with the same result. Any suggestions?

instal script (http://www.shelbyforums.com/forums/admincp/vbacmps_install.php)

Actually, it shows a different error if you click the link in my message above but if you cut and paste the url into a blank browser window the error like swanny's appears. (Parse error functions.php line 1887, Fatal error sessions.php line 88)

just curious but why is ur cmps install script in ur vBulletin admin cp?

That means that you have mis-hacked your functions.php file. Get a fresh, un-hacked version of that file and reapply the changes using Notepad or another similar text editor. Do NOT use Dreamweaver or any similar programs as they have been known to cause problems in the past.

just curious but why is ur cmps install script in ur vBulletin admin cp?

Step 4 said to put it there...

"root/forums/admincp - index.php, vbacmps_install.php, vba_cmps_admin.php"

I altered the files with Dreamweaver so now I will try with notepad. Thanks for the advice!
