Correct permissions for a private forum?

Just to make sure I'm not doing something wrong...

What would be considered the correct permissions for a private forum so they don't show up in the Latest Topics module?

For now I've added the forum numbers to the list of excluded forums manually but I must be missing something yet.

As long as "Can View Forum" and "Can View Others' Threads" is set to 'No' then that group shouldn't be able to see those threads.

HHHmm...... I think the problem is that what I'm thinking I want to do is opposite from how VB thinks I should do it. :D In my head I'm thinking that I should be able to create a new forum and then give it a set of default permissions (eg: Only administators) so that even if I create a new user group in the future then by default that user group would not have access to the forum. Unless I'm missing something it seems to be the other way around, create a new forum and then modify the user groups to block access to that forum so that they can't see the forum.


(I knew I should've read that VB manual better..... )
