Attachments displayed in posts

I thought I had mentioned this before but I searched the forums here and could not find where I did. I wanted to mention it again just in case it was not on your list of things to do.

Right now when you upload attachments to a post it puts then in a vertical display order. It would like to see them displayed in a horizontal order. I can post a link to what I am referring to if I need to.

This makes a difference when you are placing the attachments at the bottom of the posts (below message). It takes up to much space when you display them below the message and they display vertically.

I'm not sure that an option for that would really be necessary since it should be easy enough to change that by editing the 'adv_blog_showentry_attachments' template and removing the <div> tags from there.

I did notice that the other two options in the Admincp-->Show Entry Options (showentry.php) does not work. I try to select them and then the attachments disappear from where they were previously but then do not show up anywhere or even in the option I choose. It also defaults back to the last option I had but they do not show up anymore. The two options I am referring to that do not work are Center Column (top) and Center Column (bottom).

Sounds like that one is related to the bug posted here (http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?p=110730#post110730). If you'll run the query listed in post #2 there, that should fix the setting and allow those other two positions to work.

I ran the query and resaved the category options and tried this from the thread you referred me to.

It does save now in the Admincp to Center Column (top) and Center Column (bottom), but it does not display in either of those positions.

I just tried testing things on the demo here to be sure, but didn't have any problems after running the query. If you wouldn't mind, could you try changing them between the locations again just to be sure? If that doesn't help and you'd like to submit a support ticket then I'll be glad to have a look at things for you.

Ok it works now. It was way down at the bottom of the page. I was not expecting it to be at the very bottom. Thank you.

Ahhh... Yea, when it's in the center-bottom column, it places it below the entire content for the page since that's where the center-bottom column really starts. I'm thinking we need a new location for "Below Message, Above Replies" that will place it right after the table that the message, keywords, and etc are in.

Yes I agree. It should be above the quick reply box.

May be useful to make this a setting as anyone that is using thumbnails will want the horizontal display.

I wanted to bring this issue back to the forefront also.

I know that I do not like my attachments being displayed vertically in the showentry page because it takes up a lot of room. If a person has 5 attachments then they show up as one column with 5 rows. That is a lot of wasted space.

If they were displayed horizontally then it would only be 1 column and 1 row hence saving space.

I think that the default should be horizontally or have it set up so that we can choose how many rows or columns get displayed.

The other option would be to have the option to display either vertically or horizontally in the admincp.
