Not sure if anyone has posted this before, so I thought I'd post it. If it's already been posted somewhere, feel free to delete it. I wasn't able to find it when I was searching, so I made my own.
It's fairly simple to add Google Ads to your vbadvanced.
Go to your "Admin CP > Styles Manager > Add new template
Then Title = adv_portal_google
Paste the following into the "Template" Part
<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" class="tborder" width="100%">
<tr>
<td class="tcat"><span class="smallfont"><strong>$vba_options[portal_blockbullet] <!-- Module title here -->Google Ads </strong></span></td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td class="$getbgrow" width="100%">
<center><script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-Put your google ad number here";
google_ad_width = 125;
google_ad_height = 125;
google_ad_format = "125x125_as";
google_color_border = "22229C";
google_color_bg = "E0E0F6";
google_color_link = "22229C";
google_color_url = "0F1D8C";
google_color_text = "3E5C92";
//--></script>
<script type="text/javascript"
src="http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/show_ads.js">
</script>
</center>
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<br />
Save.
Now go into Admin CP > vBa CMPS > Add Module
Module Title = Google Ads
Module Identifier - Leave Blank
OR Template to Include = adv_portal_google
The rest is up to you.
I'm not a coder, so I may have done something wrong here. All I know is this works on my site. Hope it helps someone.

Ok... I did those two things but I am STILL having a problem with the MOD (block) showing up on my main page. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I followed the two parts and all the steps above.
What am I doing wrong?
Any help would be great... thanks

I'm having problems using more than one google ad module on the same page. I'm using two identicle google ad modules and one of them works all the time and the other seems to pop on and off. Is this google related or is it a problem on my end? You'll see if you go to my homepage(www.theoverclocked.com).

Hello I still have the same issue any ideas please
y2ksa, are you sure you have activated the module in the page you are looking at?
It's dead easy to activate the module in another page and then scratch your head wondering where it is, I know I've done that a couple of times =)
And btw, did you check the permissions? Does your usergroup have permissions to see that module?

ThanksI know how to get my code. But it stated "pub-Put your google ad number here"
Do I just throw my code there or is there a specific number?

Generate your code from google then just replace <script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-Put your google ad number here";
google_ad_width = 125;
google_ad_height = 125;
google_ad_format = "125x125_as";
google_color_border = "22229C";
google_color_bg = "E0E0F6";
google_color_link = "22229C";
google_color_url = "0F1D8C";
google_color_text = "3E5C92";
//--></script>

I use this template:
<table align="center" border="0" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" class="tborder" width="100%">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="tcat smallfont" style="font-weight: bold;"><a style="float: $stylevar[right]" href="#" onclick="return toggle_collapse('forumhome_$mods[filename]')"><img id="collapseimg_forumhome_$mods[filename]" src="$stylevar[imgdir_button]/collapse_tcat$vbcollapse[collapseimg_forumhome_randomtopic].gif" width="15" height="15" border="0" alt="Collapse/Expand" /></a>$vba_options[portal_blockbullet] $mods[title]</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tfoot style="display: none;"></tfoot>
<tbody id="collapseobj_forumhome_$mods[filename]">
<tr style="$vbcollapse[collapseobj_forumhome_randomtopic]">
<td class="$getbgrow">
<center><script type="text/javascript"><!--
google_ad_client = "pub-2814725025605655";
google_ad_width = 160;
google_ad_height = 600;
google_ad_format = "160x600_as";
google_ad_channel ="";
google_color_border = "669966";
google_color_bg = "99CC99";
google_color_link = "000000";

I guess it would depend on which size you choose to display. I'm using the 125x125 block here (http://www.nfltalk.com) if you want to have a look.

The alternative method to add google ads will be placing them on top/bottom of our navbar template :)

works great, as for the "put google number here" all i did was replace the code between <center> < /center> with the whole google code, and replace the one bug found like on post 4 or 5 "google" in edit modual.
ty for the script
"instals* on 3.0.7 works great :)

Isn't that a breach of Google's TOS? You're soliciting your visitors to click the ads with the "Support Us" title.

Isn't that a breach of Google's TOS? You're soliciting your visitors to click the ads with the "Support Us" title.Yes, it is. From the Google Adsense TOS
Incentives
Web pages may not include incentives of any kind for users to click on ads. This includes encouraging users to click on the ads or to visit the advertisers' sites as well as drawing any undue attention to the ads. This activity is strictly prohibited in order to avoid potential inflation of advertiser costs. For example, your site cannot contain phrases such as "click here," "support us," "visit these links," or other similar language that could apply to any ad, regardless of content.

I followed the instructions but now my modules are all pushed to the right, any ideas?
www.240sxforums.com
I figured it out. I removed
<td class="tcat"><span class="smallfont"><strong>$vba_options[portal_blockbullet] <!-- Module title here -->Google Ads </strong></span></td>
</tr>
from the code and it went back to normal.

I have the same problem as zooki. When I put the Adsense in the left column it uses the whole page width. If I put it in the right column all is fine, and it just stays in the right column. Any ideas to fix this?
