Nice and clean. Kinda basic, but you mentioned you're working on styles. Might I suggest this for a style--use the same style as the default vb, but make the background black instead of white. That would give that dark element you seem to be seeking while still keeping the white text and boxes that goes with the theme of your site.

I think it looks great. Simple yes, but great. Since it is a photography site, it certainly doesn't distract from the great content.
