How many attachments(photos) can be added to each entry?

As many as you would like. There are options in the Admin CP where you can specify the maximum number of attachments as well as a few other things.

Admin CP => Modify Settings => Attachment Options

That's where you'll find the main settings, and there are also a few usergroup permissions.
