I'm not yet a vb or vbadvanced CMPS owner, still trying to figure out how they work together.
Here's what I don't understand and hopefully someone can explain it to me. I start with VBulletin and then I add VBadvanced CMPS. CMPS offers me all sorts of things like creating custom blocks, a nice front page and adds functionality through modules that I cannot get in VB. It's that last part that has me confused.
I'm trying to understand how the additional modules integrate witht he VB database. Does it actually change the VB database in some way? Does it create its own new tables? Or does it just organize, sort and present native VB data in better ways?
I'm trying to figure this out because I'm wondering what would happen if I set up CMPS and then someday removed it in favor of something else, another protal or cms. Would I merely be losing the presentation and have to redo that? Or would I be losing actual data (like posts, forums, etc) that has been created and placed into VB or some CMPS tables?
