View Full Version : Can Dyna's attachments be in the vBulletin attachments folder too?

Hmmm, subject title says it all, I guess. There is an attachments folder inside the Dynamics folder (or whatever you named it), but I do regular backups of my vBulletin Attachments folder and would much prefer to have all my website's attachments located there. Is that possible? If so, would I have to put a sub-directory in there, say like, "dynamics" (and for those who do multiple instances of vBa Dyna, "blogs", "articles", etc.)?

Thanks,

Jim

I wouldn't think that should be a problem. I tried testing things locally just to be sure, but did not have any issues. My only slight concern would be if vBulletin ever changed anything to where it would completely clear out your attachment folder (ex: when moving from the file system to the db), even if the files/folders were not from vBulletin. I really don't see why they would, and highly doubt that they would, but it could be a possibility... And with my luck, it would happen if I didn't mention it. :p
As you said, it would be best to create sub-directories for each instance's attachments in your vB attachment folder so that there could not be any chance for conflicts.

Thanks, Brian. I am directing the attachments to /attachments/dyna-blogs. I see that you have this facility set up neatly in the Modify Settings portion of the CP module.
