Hello, I'm very new to this. :(
My problem is.. when I installed the vBadvanced files and ran the install script my admincp's layout stayed the same. What did I do wrong? I see the vBadvanced tab in my admincp but the layout is still plain white not like the sites Demo which has a shinny blue layout.

Also how do you put/link your forums on your homepage in the middle?

The CMPS does not change your Admin CP layout. It just adds the new group for the CMPS.

There are several ways to add a link... You could edit the settings for your Site Navigation module and add the link there, edit your navbar or header template and place the link there, add a new module with the link, etc.

Heres the deal, I want my homepage to be my forums but in the CMPS layout with the navigat module, ect (for example). I don't want a link to them because right now when I link to the forums from the CMPS homepage I lose the navig. bar and other CMPS features.. Its just the plain Vbulletin layout. How do I set up my forums on my CMPS homepage in the middle with the navig bar and other bars? At this time I can't seem to edit my forums page.. it doesn't show up in CMPS admincp section. I just see hompage and its the CMPS homepage not the forums. I want my forums to be on my homepage in the middle through CMPS.

Also I think I set something up wrong because none of the buttons on the CMPS homepage work, like the FAQ, UserCP, Memberlist, ect and it sends me to Error 404: Not found page.. but if I go to my forums, which is just the plain Vbulletin layout, they work.

If you could help or guide me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it. :)

You have to use "integration" to get the CMPS wrap around your forums. Once that is done, you can make the wrapped forum home your sites home page.

On the CMPS homepage I can click forums and it takes me to my forums but the Integration isn't showing I have a forums page.

You have to designate a page "forums" in the CMPS to make it work--I don't actually have mine that way so I am not real up on it but there are some great instructions called "Integration Walkthru" at the top of this very forum

You have to create a page with the custom content module enabled--named "forum" as an example and then you will have that choice to wrap when you integrate.

Thanks that worked. I just need to know how to make my forums page the default home page and bypass the default home page.

You would take your forum "index" page that you just created, save it to the root of your website and rename it "index.php" if it isn't that already.

At least, that is what the instructions say to me. Again, I have not actually done this on my forum

At least, that is what the instructions say to me. Again, I have not actually done this on my forumI think my index files arent set up right.. Everytime I make a page with CMPS it adds the link to the nav bar but when I click it, it use cmps_index.php?pageid=

But I changed my cmps_index to index.php in my root folder. I don't understand why my homepage and the forum page I made try to use cmps_index.php as my index. It ends up sending me to a Error page..

my site is set up like this in Smart ftp:

www.mywebsite.com
forums (folder)

I installed CMPS to my forums folder and editted the cmps_index file with my forums location and renamed it to index.php then put it in my root folder and I've had the problem ever since.

Also when I integrated my forums it worked for the default forums navigation tab but when I deleted that and made my own forums page which added a new forum name in my navigation tab it no longer worked.. I'm so confused.

I am happy to help out however I can but I am not real versed on this.

Couple of things...the CMPS is a hierarchy which means that the cmps_index.php is designated "home" by the computer. If you have renamed that file to "index", all subsequent pages will be something like...http://www.yoursite.com/index.php?page=your identifier

The only way you get your forums to view as the default "home" page in the CMPS is to make it that way. The product comes with one page witch is "home", that represents the top of the tree...cmps_index.php. (unless it has been renamed)

I'm having trouble getting my new forums page to integrate with my actual forums. When I follow the steps from the site it makes the page but its just a normal page and not my forums even though its called forums.

Could you also tell me how to make a basic index file that makes my website homepage the /forums/ folder instead of the "index of" page?

The link you see in the Site Navigation module from the page you've added will not actually show your forums. You have to use the 'Integration' link, choose the filenames there that you want to integrate, and then you will see the modules selected on that page wrapped around the normal content of the file(s) you integrated with.
