Well, I checked the FAQ, but while my question is there, the solution has absolutely nothing to do with my situation. I've got a new installation of vb3, and when I view news on the home page, I see a link to the post (in a panel titled "News Archive"...), rather than the post itself.

How I set it up:
I added a forum for news. Then I added that ID to the news module's configuration.

Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

...and I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum. Sorry! :(

Link to your site so I can take a peek? Sounds like a permissions issue... Are "Guests & Unregistered" Allowed to view? Were you logged in as Admin or not logged in at all?

That is your Archive. As in older posts. It is supposed to look like that. Check out my site http://www.ravensrealm.net you will see my News Archive at the bottom.

Ok, thanks. But I posted it recently! Do the first few posts automatically get archived?

Have you enabled under admincp / vba CMPS / "News Options" / News Forum ID? That is what will display your most recent posts with a few short sentances.. You can use multiple forum ID's as well just seperate with a "," comma..

Indeed I have (otherwise it wouldn't even show the post, I think)

Hmm. This probably has a simple solution

Indeed I have (otherwise it wouldn't even show the post, I think) Actually what is being displayed is the "News Archive" Not the News Forums. They are two different options. :)

Hmm. This probably has a simple solution Without seeing what you have selected in your options it is hard to say. I think you might have over looked this.

If you go into admincp and select vBa CMPS "Default Settings" the option is the first one under "News Forum ID" Your "News" forum is ID number "14" Just put 14 in that first space. Then on the next line down select the numer of posts to display on the portal

I have both of the options filled - 14, and 3

Hmmm o_O What would cause it to display new news posts (I tried making a couple more) in the news archive?

I noticed you registered. Should I make you an admin so you can see the settings?
