Sorry for this being a newbie question, but I can't fathom out how to use additional pages...

I am OK with modules, adding and removing etc... as well as applying relevant user permissions to view these modules etc, but I cannot work out how to get the pages I create to be diplayed.

I can certainly see the use in adding addidiotnal pages, i.e. I could have many Portal pages available, each with the same header/footer information, for whatever information I wanted to put on them. So, say if I have set up three pages in total:

1 - default
2 - products
3 - services

... each with their corresponding information, how do I get each one to display...?

Thanks.

Have you taken a look at the user's manual available in the Member's Area here?

I've looked through the user's manual, I have been reading the forums for a few hours now, I just don't understand how I get content into a page into a module.

Where does the content go?

Let's say I want 3 columns and in the center column all I want is a box that says "hello" and has a picture?

Where do I put that html? How does the html get input into the database? I am missing something.

I need some hand holding, can someone please be patient with me and write it out step by step?

Thanks so much.

Just create a new template with the content, then add the name of that template in the 'Page Template' option for that page.

Very sorry to resurrect this thread, but when I couldn't really fathom this out when I started with vBa (even though it sounds easy) and so decided to leave this until later. Right now though, I have a need to use additional pages on one of my forum and am having a go at doing it again.

Brian: I am sorry to be so dumb here.... !!! I am preparing a site for my wife which is www.rainbowsunbeams.com (http://www.rainbowsunbeams.com) - not brilliant so far, but I am working on it and hope to significantly improve on the header etc... Anyway, I have an issue with new pages in CMPS still and this is what I have done so far...

I have created a new collapsable module on my CMPS page that contains links to useful pages within my wifes www site. This module appears in the top left and is called 'Useful Links'

I have created a new template in my style called 'adv_portal_staff'

I added a new page in CMPS with the following criteria:

Page Title: Staff
Page Identifier: Staff
Page Template: staff (NB small letter 's')
Custom Page Content: Ticked / Checked
Now, on my portal page, one of the links in the Useful Links module is called 'Playgroup Staff' and has the following URL attributed to it: http://www.rainbowsunbeams.com/index.php?page=staff but when this is clicked on it still does not show the staff page in any of the modules in my portal.

I am obviously doing something wrong here but for the life of me I can't fathom out what this is. Please can someone explain to me what I need to amend to make this work...

Many thanks...

John

Darned it.... Darned it.... Darned it.... Darned it.... Darned it.... Darned it.... Darned it....!!!!!!!

I figured it out.... there's no need to use the "adv_portal_" to preceed each new template set up to show the new page content. So, given that I had called the Page Identifier: staff - I simply amended this to say adv_portal_staff and it works fine.

Sorry to be a pain... :)
