Display Smaller Sub-Category Columns???

In Category Options:

Display Smaller Sub-Category Columns
This option will allow you to display links to a category's sub-categories in the category listings. [text entry box here]

Is there some instructions I could use to understand some of the settings better? I don't know what that one means and what the possible entries are for the text input box.

Just found an image from the original post where this idea was suggested.

The smaller category titles there is what that setting controls. If you set the value to 0, those categories will not appear. Otherwise, just set it to the number of columns that you want the sub-categories to be split into (ex: In the image above it would be set to 2).
