As Im playing with the system, I am seeing a potential for it.

I know these topics have been brought up before, here is an idea I think combining them, and why.

Custom Fields. Great for data entry.
Give an option when creating/editing - "Acts as tag?"

If so, they become clickable, using the tag backend.

Tag SEO - Results like
http://www.url.com/dyna/tags/keyword
http://www.url.com/dyna/tags/keyword-keyword2

This would allow you to cross reference similar data seen throughout the entire system, without having to do any of the manual HTML work.

Example:

Entry 1
Custom Field 1 = Color: Red
Custom Field 2 = Size: Large
Custom Field 3 = Release Date: 1999

Entry 2
Custom Field 1 = Color: Blue
Custom Field 2 = Size: Medium
Custom Field 3 = Release Date: 1999

Entry 3
Custom Field 1 = Color: Red
Custom Field 2 = Size: Large
Custom Field 3 = Release Date: 2001

Clicking red would be:
http://www.url.com/dyna/tags/red
Return: Entries 1 and 3

Clicking blue would be:
http://www.url.com/dyna/tags/blue
and would give you only entry 2

Clicking 1999 would be:
http://www.url.com/dyna/tags/1999
and would give you entries 1 and 2

And so on.

Resulting tag pages have search terms + default or auto generated as the meta keywords, auto meta description as "Tag/Search results for Keyword in our DYNA system."

That could be a VERY powerful and useful resource for the system, especially if your items are going to have alot of the same variables, when there are many variables. It allows you to cross link everything in the system without a blink, and have very specific landing pages for the engines with like data, keywords, and descriptions.

As it is, the system is half way there already. Would this be possible down the road?

Your idea is almost the same as the one mentioned here: http://www.vbadvanced.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23774

I totally agree... The power, ease and functionality of a feature like this cannot be underestimated.... :). Having the URL's like you mentioned (in familiy with Sniper's idea from vbulletin.org except the SEO part (!)) would simply be fabulous. If there should be only one new feature in a comming new version - this would IMHO be a top candidate... :-)

It is some how double confetti to have first the custom fields them selves and then underneath potentially writing (tedious proces) some of the same (key) words again.

Yes, I agree. And I have 70 or so custom fields, some with lists of 100 items in each. I cant copy them into the tags area, unrealistic. But with a comma seperated function like in the original tags system, those lists of 100 would be linked throughout the system, x 70.

Another useful part of this is something I mentioned in another thread, modules which display top tag searches. So you could have a sidebar with links to results of more refined groups of data than your normal category structure. All automatically generated based on user interaction.
