Like some others have expressed, I'm having difficulty wrapping my brain around precisely what sort of functionality is offered by "vB Dynamics". But here's a thought:

One of the web sites that I manage is an online community for graduates of my former high school. Like "classmates.com", it allows alumni to create profiles, post messages & photos, place events on the calendar, sell reunion tickets efficiently, etc. The three main components are: vBulletin, vBadvanced CMPS and PhotoPost.

We'd like to create a "business directory" among the users of the site -- a categorized & searchable database of offerings, each linked to a particular user. It's conceivable that the relationship might be "many-to-one" (i.e., that a single grad might have multiple business interests, such as both lawn maintenance and pool installation).

Is this the sort of thing that vB Dynamics could handle for us? A "database within a database", if you will?

Another idea: Many of this site's users share reviews of things they've been reading. Would vB Dynamics be appropriate for creating categorized book reviews? Allow for multiple reviews of the same book? Allow multiple levels of categorization (e.g., Fiction vs. Non-Fiction, plus Non-Fiction>Current Events, Non-Fiction History, Non-Fiction>Cooking, etc.?

Are these appropriate problems for which vB Dynamics offers a solution? I'm looking for something more elegant than simply a long THREAD in which everyone enters a freestyle blurb about their business. I want more structure than that, more consistency among entries. Same for the book reviews.

Sounds like vBa Dynamics could handle that one. Of course it has a category system so that the offerings could be categorized. Then each member could submit as many entries to those categories as they would like, so one member could submit a different entry for both lawn maintenance and pool installation, and whatever else.

You could set up the category structure and allow as many sub-categories as you would like, so the multiple levels of categorization should not be a problem. For multiple reviews of the same book, the 2nd person to review the book could either submit their own separate entry, or you could just ask them to reply to the original entry if you did not want to have a separate one for each review.
