Is it possible two use 2 of the same module.

Say I wanted to have latest posts from two forums, on each side of the portal.

Or if I wanted to use the news forum for news, and another news module, and specify another forum ID.

Know what I mean? if so, what do i do?

thanks!

Duplicate the module. I would assume this would work.

I dont think so.
I did copy the news module, but I dont know how to show it in the admincp, nor can I change the forum ID it gets the news from, so I ended up with 2 modules with different name but showing same info.

And I really would appreciate any help I can get on this as I have a news module and a special events module (not related to calendar, and not news to be added to news)

thanx

You would need to change the variables in the file and hardcode them.

I know, but I dont know which variables. I would guess that I have to create a new variable, and hardcode it in the file, and include it somewhere in vb or CMPS.

As I am not a coder, I know I can screw things up with ease, so should I suggest that for next release an optional news module is included.

I've seen questions about doing so with no answe on how to, just that is doable.

I myself appreciate the efforts you are doing, and would like to contripute, I wanted to buy the installation just to support this script althogh it was done in away that no one would need help installing it. Put I can not contripute as you are only using PayPal system that does not have my country on its list.

If you search the file for '$vba_options' then you should be able to find the ones that are important, and most are pretty easy to figure out what they do by the name.
I do have plans to make it easier to copy modules in v2.0 as well. I haven't actually tested it yet, but I'm pretty sure the new method I'm using will make this very easy. :)

I did it, I screwd up my news module, I had 2 identical news blocks.
I re uploaded a fresh copy of news.php, now I cant see any news what ever I do
I reinstalled templates, removed module and added it with no luck

Please help

Double check that the news module is active, active on that particular page, and that you have 'news' for the 'Module Identifier' option.

If you'd rather submit a support ticket and have me take a look I'll be glad to do that.
It will probably be at least a month or so before v2.0 is released.
