View Full Version : Next Release General Time Frame?

I am nearing completion of my first 2 instances. About to install a couple more and begin modding. Wanted to know if there was a time frame for the next release, and if it may be close. I might possibly hold off on the installation of the new instances if that is the case, so I don't have to remod them if anything major changes.

Thanks!

We shouldn't be too far off from releasing v1.0.0 ("gold"), If I had to *guess* when it would be released, I would say 2-4 weeks.

I'm fully convinced that I'm cursed now... I had quit giving estimated release dates because when I did in the past, something would always happen to ensure that I didn't make it. I went against that and gave one here. Over the weekend I upgraded to Vista and somewhere in the process the templates table from my development database was hosed. Now of course I made multiple backups of everything using different methods just to be safe. And of course when I went to access those backups, the templates table was already corrupted/missing in those. I don't see how since I'm sure I had just accessed the table an hour or two before making the backups, but unfortunately the table seems to be lost forever. I'm going to start redoing all of the template changes today, but that's going to delay the release by at least a few days or so.

I think Brian forgot a cardinal rule with web development, especially vBulletin related development....

LAMP = Good :cool:
WAMP = Bad :(

It's getting very close... Earlier this week I had tentatively planned to try and release the update today. A good friend of mine passed away on Wednesday though, so I haven't really been able to work on things like I had planned. Assuming that everything goes well next week though, we should have the relase ready sometime then.

Tis OK Brian, I was planning on launching this week too, and the same thing happened to me. Which, when I read your statement, thought was pretty nuts. I had to write almost the same sentence to my staff. Take your time, we'll all be here when you get back.

Re: dyna "gold" release

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I certainly hope it doesn't take until December. Barring any major unforseen problems, it shouldn't be much longer before it's released.

For those that may not follow all of the posts...

Brian has recently experienced an event in his personal life that has taken him away from the keyboard for a little so his tentative release dates are likely affected. Unforeseen incidents is a perfect example as to why definitive schedules are not released.

Please be assured that work continues and updates will be made available ASAP.

I am sorry to hear the news.

All I am looking for is a time frame.. + or - a week/month

Right now there is one item left on the to-do list, and then a few things need to be added to the upgrade file and things tested before the public release.

Nice
