My site is currently at vbulletin version 3.5.4 and CMPS 2.1.0.

I am getting ready to upgrade to the latest of both but wanted to know what the recommendations are.

Should I upgrade vbulletin first then CMPS or does it matter?

Will CMPS 2.1.0 work with the latest version of vbulletin?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

vBulletin will have to be upgraded first as the latest version of the CMPS is designed for vB 3.6+.
The version of the CMPS you're running will not work with vB 3.6, so you would want to upgrade the CMPS right after you finish upgrading vB.

Thanks Brian. That's exactly what I wanted to know.

Is there any documentation floating around on the upgrade process from 2.x to the new version?

Thanks,

Brian,

Do you know if I were to order the Professional Install/Upgrade Service, if the current layout of cmps 2.x would be preserved?

Thanks,

Nick

The only documentation really is in the readme.html file that comes with the download package. Upgrading should be fairlly simple though... Just upgrade vB, upload the new CMPS files from the download package, go to the vbacmps_install.php, and select the option to 'Upgrade' from there. The layout, settings, and everything else (with the exception of default templates that were customized, as many have changed) from your current installation should be preserved.

Yes, if you would prefer to go that route, we'll be glad to upgrade the CMPS for you and make sure that everything goes smoothly. Just note that you will need to upgrade vBulletin before ordering the upgrade service.
