Hi,

I downloaded a module from .Org a few days ago and now there is an update to the module. I tried to re-upload the module to cmps, but it barked at me because I had an identical identifier. So, I just deleted the old one and attempted to upload the new version. Now, my forums CMPS homepage is blank, nothing in it at all, nothing loads up:(

How can I fix this and what is the standard procedure with upgrading modules?

EDIT #1: I just went into Diagnostics and noticed that I'm getting an Invalid URL error for cmps_index.php. The verified that the file is located in my root directory just as it always has been. Any idea on how to fix this?

EDIT #2: OK, I removed all of the custom Modules from the homepage and the CMPS homepage started working again. However, the diagnostics still tells me that the CMPS URL is invalid... Also, I still need to know how I upgrade modules to latest versions.

Thanks:)

The diagnostics that checks for the URL may not be accurate 100% of the time, so as long as you're sure that the URL is correct, there's nothing to worry about.

As for upgrading modules, the only way to do so right now is to delete the original and then upload the new one if it's a PHP file module.

Ouch! It's not that big of deal 95% of the time, but when you have a module that you're using numerous times, each with different content, it is a little bit of a PIA:)

Oh well, like I said, it's not that big of deal, especially considering that vBadvanced is free. Thanks for putting together such an awesome plugin!

If the author included the normal .php file that's used, then you could possibly just upload that to your modules directory and overwrite the old one.

I've also added a note to the to-do list to allow for modules to be overwritten when they have the same identifier, so that option should make it into the next release. :)
