News and Calender not showing up

Hello

I jsut installed the software everything went ok.
But when I tested by refreshing my home page the news and the calendar arent showing.
Do i need to do something else that I missed?
And another question.
After the news is showing up, how can I had the news on the module/block?

You have to set your 'News Forum ID' option before any news posts will show up.

I'm also having problems.

My forum ID has been set and nothing shows. It was showing initially, but now nothing....suggestions?

What do you have your News Forum ID set to? Is the news module active on your 'Default / Homepage' page?

News forum ID is set to:
8 (Club Annoucements)

It's ordered as #3 in the center module (as Club News)

"Club News" is active, set to center column, and looking for file "news.php"

Templates used:
adv_portal_news_archivebits, adv_portal_news_readmore, adv_portal_newsbits, bbcode_quote, bbcode_php, postbit_attachment, adv_portal_news_archive,

All users groups can see this module

Under edit page, all setttings for homepage set to default and module is clicked active in order #3

You don't have any posts in that forum, so you're not going to see anything for the news until you make some.

Am i missing something obvious / simple here?

Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Edit Pages => Default / Homepage

Make sure the options are set properly there, and that you have something other than 0 set for the 'News Posts Maximum' option (it says to set it to 0 to show all, but that's a bug and will actually disable the news). If that doesn't help please submit a support ticket via the Member's Area here so I can have a look and see what the problem is.

i just checked - it's set to "5". I changed it to 10 to see if that would make a difference but it did not.
