Is Links Directory pretty much a supped up version of CMPS? Meaning that if I got it I don’t need CMPS. Or are they not the same thing and I should get both? Sorry for the noob question…

The Links Directory is nothing like the CMPS. The CMPS is a portal and content management system that allows you to create a portal, plus manage other pages on your website. The links directory is just that - A directory of links where other people can submit links to their site on yours. To view a demo of the CMPS, click here (http://vbadvanced.com/) to go to our homepage. For a demo of the Links Directory, click here (http://vbadvanced.com/links).

For the most part, the CMPS is just a newer version of the homepage. The backend of the two are so different though that I decided to keep both scripts available as the homepage may be better for some who would like to drastically change the design and are very comfortable with HTML and maybe PHP.

Ahh I see… well I am not extremely comfortable with PHP as I am still learning it but I can pretty much do html in my sleep. I would like to customize my site, I have designed a custom template that I need to make it fit into. The one thing I am not to crazy about though is that homepage lacks some features that CMPS has that I think are really nice. So how bad will I be crippling myself by going with CMPS instead of homepage considering that I may be doing some custom mods?

It shouldn't be a problem at all. Some people may find the homepage easier if they want to extremely change the layout since the majority of the code is in one template. Are you planning on changing it to move away from the 2-3 column layout or anything like that? If not then there's no reason that the CMPS would be any harder to modify.

Well maybe just a little here is a link of where we left off with the Invision Power Board Version.

GamingArtist.com Beta Test Site (http://gamingartist.echotrace.com)

Think I could do that with CMPS?

That could be done with the CMPS... It really depends on how comfortable you are with vBulletin and HTML, but the Homepage may be a little easier to modify and achieve that look.
