Hello,

I do have 2 problems with the vBadvanced 3.0 RC2 for vBulletin 3.6.8 SP2.

1. DB Error: Unable to connect to the database server at this time
What happens: I first installed it, all runs proper, no problems. THen I had to change the db name. Now theres this problem. What do I have to do.

2. This Problem is not so important. I still had it since I insalled it the first time.
In Diagnostics appears: wrong version nummber: found 3.0 RC2, expected 3.0 RC1

Heya Cheerboy,

a. After you changed your db name - is your vbulletin/forums instance - still working? As far as I am aware - CMPS uses all the details from the vb config file.. so - if vb works, CMPS should work as well [I might be wrong, true, as I haven't looked at that code area and CMPS could cache the connection details but I doubt it.. :-) so - give it a try].

b. ? Why did you expect RC1? RC2 is newer.. Brian has the most updated files to download in the archive.

Cheers,

Hi there and at first thanks for responding.

a.) my Forum works well. Also my coppermine gallery. Only vBa denies to work.
b.) No I do have installed the newest version 3.0 RC2 but if I use the Diagnose inside the ACP, I get the information: "wrong version number: found RC2.0 expected RC1.0

For problem a.) I tried also to use [Rebuild Module Cache] - [Rebuild Page Parentlists] with no success

Heya Cheerboy,

1. I would assume the path to forums is [still] correct? [in the vba config file]

2. Did you upgrade from RC1 to RC2 or had a fresh install? Seems that there is a conflict somewhere.. I never saw that myself but there are many things I haven't seen and I don't want to see! ;-)

--

If you did a RC1 => RC2 upgrade - may I suggest you uninstall it from Admin CP and then just download again the Dynamics package [might have been upgraded meanwhile] and re-install it? Might be an easier way out.. for both issues.

I uploaded the php file an checked it, its all fine also th Diagnose.
I didn`t upgraded I installed it new.

My whole construction was on air since 1 month.
The problems occurred since I renamed the Database.

I am a little bit scared about uninstall and reinstall cause I did a lot of customizing.

1). Can you open the cmps_index.php file (or whatever you've renamed that file to) and confirm that the path in your $forumpath variable is correct? The CMPS just uses your vBulletin settings, database connections, and etc, so there shouldn't be any way that it would have trouble connecting to the database if vBulletin connects ok, unless perhaps it's including the files from a different vBulletin installation.

2). Sounds like you've uploaded the files for v3.0 RC2, but did not run the upgrade script. If you load the admincp/vbacmps_install.php file in your browser and select the option to upgrade from there, that should take care of that one.
