Not crystal clear, but I'll have a go.
1. Why would I only show two columns on my pages instead of three?
Depending on content, depends on how many columns you can easily present, three is a current trend. I am begining to see the odd 4 column one though, this apparantly makes the user think there are more options. 2 columns have a strong place in the present web amd three need to be used where appropiate. Target browser and user resolution are a serious factor, three colums of text on 1024 is not alot of text when encased in pretty images.
2. I want to rearrange the page out of the standard three columns. Here is a link to what I want to achieve. beta test (http://gamingartist.echotrace.com/)http://www.gamingartist.com/images/smiles/5.gif
That can be done, will be a nie challenge but it can be done via the adv_portal templates.
3. Is it possible to move the Powered by notice down by the vBulletin powered by notice and get rid of the All times are GMT part
Yes, jump into the vbulletin templates for this. footer IIRC but I've played with my styles so much I'm possibly wrong.

Briskoda pretty much got it all. As for moving the copyright, if you search for 'copyright' I'm sure you'll find a thread explaining how to move the copyright notice. ;)
