Not sure if Brian has an answer for this but hopefully some of you may. Does anyone, know of any modification or custom vba module that will show posts from a specified forum in the below format on the main page:

Link to specified | Thread prefix (category) | Thread subject | (# of comments)
Link to specified | Thread prefix (category) | Thread subject | (# of comments)
Link to specified | Thread prefix (category) | Thread subject | (# of comments)
Link to specified | Thread prefix (category) | Thread subject | (# of comments)
Link to specified | Thread prefix (category) | Thread subject | (# of comments)

The "Link" would be a link to a specified URL.
The "category" would be taken from the post prefix (vB 3.7 feature).
The "Thread subject" would be the actual post subject. Clicking thing would go to the thread.
The "# of comments" would be the number of posts in the thread. Clicking thing would go to the thread.

I'm going for a fark.com (http://www.fark.com) like appearance for new posts on the front page. Appreciate any feedback/advice. Thanks.

You could do that by using the Recent Threads module and altering the template for it to look more like the layout you're trying to achieve.
