vBlog integration questions

I bought and install vBDynamics but am not sure it will give me just what I need. So I am trying vBlog. I just want a product to use to post News entries by Admin only. I want them to output in the existing center column content area that CMPS uses. I still want to be able to output my existing php pages there, too.

Can that be done?

I know there's at least one or two modules that were posted for vB's blog, so the best thing I can suggest would be to search the add-on modules forum here and see if any posted there fit your needs.
