And yet again all Template and Phrase versions are broken causing all templates and phrases being reported as outdated :-(
Will this annoying issue ever be fixed?

All templates should still be showing v3.0.0. I double checked the database here and they all still have v3.0.0 listed. Is there something else required other than keeping the version number the same?

Installed without any trouble :) but there's no new "vba_cmps_error.php" so it's still 3.0.0
@Brian
copy the new files an then try .../admincp/vbacmps_install.php

I was thinking that file was removed in v3.0.0, but apparently I wasn't thinking correctly. That file has been removed as of 3.0.1 though and is no longer necessary. I've also updated the first post here to add a note about that.

ok, stupid question... but how do I upgrade to a latest version of vbA? I can't seem to find directions or anything on how to do it...
EDIT: Haha, yep, stupid question. I found it, thanks though (it's in the download, not online)

Delete the includes/vba_cmps_error.php file. (See OP).

it's ok because:

why don't you people take a moment to read?...

Copied all the files like it said, ran the install and I get this:
"Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.
If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error."
What am I doing wrong? I thought this new version was supposed to fix this problem. Running vb 3.6.10
Thanks
Update, found the problem. I had installed the Inferno CSRF Auto Protection hack. I disabled it and the update worked fine.

There is a missing file. The /includes/vba_cmps_error.php must be there and renamed to /includes/vba_cmps_include_error.php otherwise I'm getting the posted error message. Brian, do you forget this file in the package?

This file has renamed to vba_cmps_include_error.php! If you don't do that, you will get the error that the file is missing. My password was to old and I'm not get the vB error message and have to go to the index.php to get access to the forums.
The failure is not every time by the user.

Yes. The Username and the dateline must be preserved too.
I am really sorry, but it still doesn't work for me :(
Steps to reproduce:
1) Take a vanilla vBulletin
2) Install CMPS 3.0.1
3) Install the german language pack I made for CMPS 3.0.0
4) Go to ACP / Languages & Phrases / Find Updated Phrases
=> All Phrases are listed as 3.0.1

I'm still running vBadvanced CMPS 3.0 RC2. Tonight i'm going to update my vBulletin to version 3.7.0. Do I need to (or should I) update my vBadvanced CMPS to version 3.0.1 before or after my vB update?
Brian
05-01-2008, 01:32 PM
Kirby - The username/date must be the problem then as I didn't realize those had to be preserved as well. I guess I should have thought about that and done some better testing, but the release was a bit rushed due to the sudden changes in vB 3.7 and wanting to get the release out quickly. I'll have to re-think the template/phrase functions a bit and see if I can get that worked out for the next release. FYI, there should not have been any changes to the templates or phrases from v3.0.0 - v3.0.1.
Marvin - You can upgrade in any order you would like.

Thank you Brian!

@Brian
I'd suggest to just let vBulletin do that stuff for you.
Use a standard product XML file for all the templates, phrases, etc.
Put that XML in includes/xml (or wherever you want, it just needs to be in some known path on the server)
Import the XML through admincp/plugin.php as part of your installer
Add a * installation code to set a redirect to the next step in you installer when the import is complete
And you don't have to worry about templates and phrases any longer, it also makes the installer a lot simpler :-)

upgrading at the moment. :D
I just hope to learn from my last mistake of skimming through the "revert" pages. :(
EDIT: Upgrade went smooooooooooth. ;) Especially with final, stable, gold 3.7

Worked like a charm!!

Brian, can you please clarify this? I didn't get any error on installation, but when testing a garbage parameter, I'm getting php errors on the screen indicating that /includes/function.php failed to open /includes/vba_cmps_include_error.php (which is indeed missing from the 3.0.1 distro that I downloaded). Should we rename the 3.0.0 file, or is there an updated file that was omitted from the distro?

That file has not been used since v2.2.0. The plugin containing that *should* have been updated during any upgrades. The best way to make sure that it is removed is probably going to be to delete any plugins called "vBadvanced Error Replacements" from your Plugin Manager in your Admin CP. Then go to the admincp/vbacmps_install.php file in your browser and select the 'Reinstall your vB plugins' option to rebuild your plugins and make sure everything's updated properly.
