Custom Field - URL Link?

I would like one of my custom fields to be a URL that will show up as a link, how is this possible? I added a custom field but when the article displays it is only text, not a link.

I found a work around, I will just make the users type in the bbcode tags for a url. If this could be done automagically the better. Thanks!

Admin CP => vBa Links Directory => Manage Categories => {select category} => Custom Fields => Automatically Parse Links in Text

If you enable that option then links should automatically be parsed.
