Is there a way to get the news module (or any other module) take posts randomly?

I want to have tips show randomly but let users respond if they like.
Using a quote script is not interactive for this, so CAN this be done? and if yes, How PLEASE

Yes, a module that can pull the first post of a random topic of a forum and show it on the frontpage
