hello,

i'm looking for a solution to have a news section in the body of my webpage.

the body of my webpage is going to look like a 'traditional' homepage & NOT a vbulletin page...by this i mean, i want a news column on my webpage as the only thing vbulletin related - i do NOT want a news module in the center of the page with all the other vbulletin 'goodies' on the page

http://www.vbadvanced.com/ is an example of what i don't want, all the other vbulletin on the page - JUST the center news is what i'm looking for

can this be done with vbadvanced cmps, AND if so, do i have to have the forum on the same url as the site? because i'd like to have the forum reside on another url (but both sites will be hosted on the same server)

HELP PLEASE????

You could use the CMPS, only enable the news module, and then edit your 'adv_portal' template to customize the page to look how you would like.

and can this be accomplished on an external page, that resides on an url separate from the url the forum is on???

I don't know if you would really consider it an external page anymore since the CMPS will be connected with vB. You would be viewing the cmps_index.php file to view your new page though, and that file can be placed pretty much anywhere on your server and named whatever you would like.
