I seem to be getting everything set up as I would like (Categories / Articles / all of my content). My Dynamics page looks good.
However, I'd like to have a sparser "Home Page" come up when people come to my main site, with quicky links to my vb forums, my vb dynamics page, maybe some "Latest threads" info from the forums, "Latest Articles" from the Dynamics database, etc.
How can I do this?
My original thought was to do something in DreamWeaver, with links to my /forums, and /info (where Dynamics lives). Obviously, if I did that, I'll get no hotlinks (latest threads/latest articles) at all.
My next thought would be convincing dynamics to display a sparse page first, with modules linking to forums/info/etc, (one of which would be the busy /info page), that would be best. I can't see anywhere in the AdminCP where I'd create more than one page. Am I missing something?
My third thought was "I might have to install CMPS to get this to work". I'd use CMPS for the home and maybe initial navigation pages, and link to my busy dynamics page. This is what talkabouttennis.com does. However, if I do that, can I get CMPS to read some information out of Dynamics, or will it only read from vBulletin forums?
(Whew.... that was a long post).
Short question: If I've installed Dynamics, is there any reason to also need CMPS (like maybe for exactly this situation), or is Dynamics a superset of CMPS's capabilities?
Thanks,
Kim
