Hello Brian,
I'm running into situations where having my set to "forums" is causing some confusion. For example, I've had people who could care less about the discussion forums, but who have tried to register at my site for some of the other features, like the articles system.
All of the language of the vB engine refers to my site as "forums". For example, "Register at Forums", etc... So they get confused and abort the registration process, because they don't want to register for "forums".
I've done a phrase search, and there are SEVERAL phrases which I would have to manually edit, to make this use my [bburl] instead of my [bbtitle] to correct this. This wouldn't be so bad if it was a one time deal, but I believe I will have to redo this work when I upgrade to newer versions of vB, so that seems like a pain.
Is there a better way for me to do this? I believe that I originally set my Forum Name to "forums" instead of "NashvilleChristian.com" so that my breadcrumbs would track propperly, and to differentiate the different parts of the site.
How would you recommend that I handle this? I always want my site referred to as NashvilleChristian.com. (During registration, in email notices, etc...) The forums are just one [B]component of that site. (My vBa components are actually a larger component of that site than the "Forums" area.)
I'd rather not try to reinvent the wheel here, but I need to add some clarity for people.
What's the easiest and BEST way to handle this?
Thanks!
Jeff
