Hi folks,

Im not 100% how sure this could be attributed to vba - but I have noticed on both forums I have installed it onto.

After installing and activating it on the homepage, there seems to be increased latency on pageloading - ie, in the browser bar it says:

contacting.................................................read.....[page appears]

however when I deactivate vba its more like:

contacting......read......[page appears]

Now I know that there is no way it could be affecting the actual latency of my site/connection, but if its placing a higher server load could it be causing this?

Im running on a VPS, my server load averages are low, and at peak times daily I have 100 users and 30-40 guests online simultaneously.

any ideas, or am I just imagining things (I doubt it but there you go...)

thanks!

Can you link me to the CMPS page where you're experiencing this problem?

I have deactivated it for tonight, as saturday and sunday are my busiest days - dont want to put people off.

I will plan to play about with it again on Monday evening EU time, and I will let you know in advance to take a look!

thanks for your support!

It seems to have added about a 5-8 second delay in opening up any page with the CMPS active - I do have to say however that now that Ive got it working as I wanted, its great - so if you could give me some idea as to what I could do to speed up the board again this is a definate purchase for me!

UPDATE: Problem resolved...

I have deactivated the following mods

guest tracker
members online last 24 hours
users currently online (from vb main options)

now running much quicker - but could do with being just a BIT faster for my liking...

If you're having issues with the load time then I would recommend disabling any other 3rd party modules you have added. The CMPS page should easly be able to load in about 0.2 seconds or less on a decent server with just the default modules.
