Hidden Post Elements Displayed in CMPS Newsbits

I would like to include certain elements (thumbnails) in posts so that they are only visible when the posts are displayed in CMPS. Is there a way to do this?

I've wondered this too. Maybe someone knows a better way, but:

1) I was thinking it should be possible to modify attachments.php to so
if ($THIS_SCRIPT==news.php), it would allow the attachment to be displayed irrespective of user permissions

Brian, would something like that work?

2) Somewhere on vbulletintemplates.org there was a mod to allow anyone to see thumbnails, but the link was not displayed to the larger image unless you were logged in. I guess something like that should work. It seemed more involved.

Another reason I want to be able to do something like this is I would like to allow anyone to grab thumbnails for RSS feeds. The only reason I have attachment/download display off to the general public is for

bandwidth conservation + enticement to register.
