I've tried searching for an answer for my issue without success. Here's my problem.
Several of my members have reported that they try to log out from the CMPS portal (home) page just fine but if they decide to go back into the forums immediately after logging out they are showed as logged in. They will then continue surfing the forums and go back to the main CMPS page and they are still logged in.
In other words they go through the log out process but returning to the forums automatically logs them back in without going through the username & password process. It seems as if the cookies aren't being cleared.
Here is a quote from one of my members: "It would seem that going to the Home page logs you out....somewhat. I see all of the register stuff and am logged out. But if I click on the Forums link I am logged in. "
I tried doing this myself and I'm not having this problem. Once I log out, I remain logged out till I go through the UN/PW process. Any suggestions or feedback?
I'll post a link to my portal page if asked to.
Thanks in advance...

that is usually the logout path is wrong ....i had same issue .... is your forum under forum index and your cmps port under your main website ...www ? if you want you can send me username and password and i can log in but it is usually in the navigation under the template you use ... look for the login part ..and put full path .... or you have the wrong path in the cmps ....

Could this be an issue where the member's cookies are not being cleared? I tried logging in and logging out several times using different combinations of my forum webpages and the cmps portal home page and not once did I remain logged in. If I wanted to login, no matter what pages or forum or subforum I was on, I had to type my UN & PW. So this problem doesn't seem to be universal (because it's not happening to me), it's only happening in isolated cases.

Okay, I may have found it why I'm having this issue. It seems when you type "www.mysite.com" my home CMPS portal page automatically defaults to "www.mysite.com/forums/" and my main forum page is just "mysite.com/forums/forums.php", wiithout the "www." in front of it.
Is it possible to have my main portal page as just "www.mysite.com " and my forums main page as "www.mysite.com/forums/".
Do I need to go through my webhost for this or do I need to play around with some files on my webhost server for this? Or maybe even I have to change some settings on vbulletin or Vba CMPS options?

usually it is your skin put in headers like brian gave the link ..i seen that on a couple skins that i used before ....
if you go under cmps and then default settings and see the nav replaces ..make sure every page is there and then copy all those and put it in the box above in header replacements ... that is for your navigation bar if you click and there have issue
if not look under staying logged in and out and try that out ...it works like a charm most t ime
brian is exactly right
if that isnt it there is option you can go set in the templates but that is little more complicated

It has nothing to do with the replacement settings.
lodolfan - Click the link I posted above and follow the instructions there. If you had read them you should have seen it specifically mentions problems with the server not recognizing 'www.' the same.

Here, Ill post my forum's address: www.hometheaterticket.com
You can type it just how I wrote it and the CMPS portal page will show correctly but it seems to redirect itself to "www.hometheaterticket.com/forums/"
Now click on "forums" under "Site Navigation"- seems like the forum main page's URL is just "hometheaterticket.com/forums/forum.php" without the "www".
My question is if it possible to have my main portal page as just "www.hometheaterticket.com " and my forums main page as "www.hometheaterticket.com/forums/", including the "www."?
Would it be incorrect if the forums and subforum pages have a URL that doesn't start with "www."?

I know this may sound crazy, but how about actually trying the instructions from the FAQ you've been linked to and then see how that works out?
