making a search string for multiple selection custom fields

Is there any chance of making a fixed search string for e.g.:

custom field= 12 (multiple selection menu)
option= 5

I have searched and tried some of the different suggestions: they really didn't worked for me - I don't really think they were aimed for multiple selection menu.

search.php?do=searchresults&quicksearch=1&cselectfields[field12][]=5

Thank you - but it didn't really work for me. It just said "no results to be found".

Are you sure this should work or is there any other option?

Worked for me locally, though maybe there's something different about the fields I was testing with... Can you link me to the install where you're trying this so I can make sure there's not something I'm missing or testing differently?
