I was looking at the demo installed at vbadvanced.com and noticed that all links have a thumbnail of the page, is that a stardard, or do i need to install a hack for showing thumbs?

Anything shown in a demo here would be a standard feature. Thumbnails can be enabled by using the 'Enable thumbshots.org Web Site Thumbnails' setting in the Admin CP.

Sorry to jack your thread but I don't want to pay for another service. Is there a way to make my own thumbs?

Thumbshots is available for free; it is just a matter of turning the option on in the ACP.

Thank you Kevin. Again sorry about jacking this thread.
Just had this installed yesterday ... confused about thumbshots being a free service. When I enabled thumbshots, all I got was the dreaded red X's, so I followed the link to thumbshots.org in the admin panel. It resolved to a blank page. So does the second link in the admin panel about agreeing to thumbshot's terms of service.
I was able to link to thumbshots.COM eventually, which offers a $5.00/mo. service with a $25 startup fee. The "free thumbshots" link on that page leads to thumbshots.org, but clicking the link again resolves to a blank page.
Is there something obvious I'm missing here?

The thumbnails from and links to thumbshots.org seem to be working fine for me... Is this something you're still having an issue with?
Brian,
It looks like the issue may have been on my end (work PC filters). I'm checking, but I believe this one's taken care of. The other questions I had are in the pending installation ticket submitted yesterday--I'll await word on those.
Thanks again for the quick install and assistance.
