All,
I have seen the block directions to include a statiuc PayPal link for donations, but what I would like to see is a module with the following functions:
- Ability to sent monthly goal
- List current donations by members and amount
- Can be viewed in block or module
- uses PayPal IPN to dynamically update information
Here is a similar hack for the 2.3 vB:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54436&highlight=paypal
Here is what a PHP-Nuke hack looks like that does more of what I would like to see in a vbA hack:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/nuketreasury
Here is an active implementation that i found on the web... notice the paypal block and all the info contained.
http://www.fm20.com
Is this possible? Would even be willing to pay some development time. :D
Thanks in advance!!

I'd like to bump this up.
I know from my old phpnuke sites its a pretty simple module code and MySQL table. I will look at it and play with it and see if I can port it over.

Hmm... yeah, i'd like to see this happen.
I ported the original Donat-O-Meter for php-nuke over to vbulletin/vbportal combination, but I have no idea how much customizing will it require to work with vbulletin/vbadvanced

Hmmm... seems like once you have the vb port, you should be able to add a custom module very easily? Did you post your original hack or have the code?
Thanks!

Try this here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67425&highlight=donation+bar) at vb.org
That is not bad but showing who donate and amount needed for goal would be nice in a module. :D

Yes like that, but in a module/box.

There is a hack at vbulletin that is not in a module but is really nice. It's a fully automated donation bar that appears in header and makes use of subscriptions. I supposed it should be fairly easy to pull out info from db for subscribers. That hack is nice. Do a search for donation.

I just finished implementing it here (http://www.haitiwebs.com/). Click on the "Support" link. It's really nice and should not be too hard to create a module to pull a list of subscribers/donators.
edit... never mind. Only registered users can see it, sorry....:p

I would also contribute especially if instead of that single button it allowed you to enter the amount in the box with a drop down for currency and a radio dot for either
a) One off payment
b) Month subscription
Now that would be a complete hack

Why you people you want to pay for something that is already available by vbulletin.org? Do a seach for donation or moneybar. It's fully automated, uses paypal and adjusts the bar automatically. Plus if you have the reoccuring paypal hack installed ... I can't post a link for you here because you have to be a member to see it. That hack uses vbulletin built in subscription system.

Your not understanding, I am wanting something EXACTLY like php treasury as you see above. You enter amount it is implemented in and you pay and you can choose whether your name shows up in that module or not, it is soo awesome. Like I said if neone is interested in making it I am willing to donate a little bit.

Any more work being done on this module? It seems like a great idea

lol. this is a great idea.. i run a site which will rely upon donations.. and i will definately be looking into this down the track.. However atm i have a whole wiki type thing to code for my site/portal and that really does take preference..
If i were to make this module, i wouldnt use recurring payments cause it would be a 'donations' thing.. and i wouldnt expect users to have monthly donations coming in.. but if someone else does make it then they would be welcome to put watever they want in :p
As for the dude who is having problems with MySQL, if you are trying to write the module yourslef (ie not using the inbuilt functions in vB) i suggest you give up now. Not being mean, but if you cant figure out mysql/php then i wouldnt put my faint in you understanding paypal's IPN. But if you arent, just ignore me :p

Here is what you want:
http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=82978
That not what they want. But i will look into this & have my programer look it over & see what could be done but depending on the cost to me depends if it will be completely free.
Or if like & don't want donate any money to my eeffort to have it done i know site where you can pay to have done yourself.
