what's with the big open space right below the welcome message. Seems like there should be something there, or that something is missing.
Seems like you have A LOT of spammers registered at your site (some prunning maybe?)
A LOT of ads at the top, kinda takes away from the header. Maybe space the banners out throughout the forum.
Not trying to pry as to why, but personally I like to view forums, before I join them. All of your forums are locked, no one can see what's going on unless they join. Just a thought.
I'm not trying to be rude or anything so don't take it the wrong way, and in NO WAY is my forum perfect, but I think's it's good to get outside opinions sometimes.

Hello, thanks for the feedback, the space on the side is for google adsense, which only allows 3 ads, and that was the 4th ad space, so they leave it blank. it has been corrected experimenting with ad placements. my google adsense bring in over $300 a month, pretty good for a small site, but fta is popular, and do get alot of hits,
and the ads are kinda standard for this type of forum, where fta members need the ads in one place when looking thru forum for their file downloads.
one of my moderators say i need an updated chatbox. think this current one will suffice?
been wanting to update the home page with vbadvanced with more modules with news and ads.
i have kept the spammers down the past month. i'm down to daily deletions of spammers, but trying to add the spam bot modification for the forums to stop the bots, lots of bots coming here. been doing the pruning thing with banned spammers, which takes out all the unwanted spammer users.

looks good!
I honestly couldn't say about the Shoutbox, I personally don't use it.
To get rid of the spammers, upgrade to 3.8.1 that will curb them for a least a while.
