I'm planning to make a big fansite of a game a from experience I know what I want and what I don't need.

- I know HTML/XML.
- I know how to make pages.
- I have a full site design ready (not vB Template)
- I need the Who's Online on every page and have each page's location reported when I view who is online.
- I need for the User to be able to log in the main site and remain logged in the forum and vice-versa.
- I need some pages viewable for certain usergroups only.
- I need the Poll on certain pages.
- I need the last threads on main page.
- I need the news on the main page.

My big question is... is CMPS what I need? either way, can anyone suggest me how I should proceed?

Thank you for you help!

Those two things are the only ones worth saying anything about (the rest the CMPS will have no problem with). Your design will need to be added into the templates as the CMPS is completely template based, but that shouldn't be a problem. As for the who's online location, that shouldn't be too hard to do, but would require some hacking.

as for the who is online.. you can see on this site what it all will track... you can already see who is on the main page.. with a bit more hacking you should be able to get custom page paths tacking.
