Installation directory

So, quick question, is it possible to specify the location of my index_cmps.php file as ../ ?

For instance, I had joomla installed at www/mydomain (shared account). vb was installed at www/mydomain/forums. I've since removed vb and then wanted to place index_cmps.php as index.php in the folder www/mydomain.

Is this doable? Do I need to move the forum "up" one directory to www/mydomain ? If I do, then, do I have to rename the forum file to something like forum_index.php?

I want CMPS to be the landing page for my site. I'm just not sure how to go ahead with this.

sorry for the noob question (I'm a noob with CMPS).

The CMPS can be run from any web accessible folder, so that's certainly possible.

I seem to be running into errors when performing certain tasks. Is it posible to have the vb files here:

www/mydomain

but still have CMPS show up as the landing page when users go to mydomain.com? If so, how?

so, I had to edit the CMPS index.php file to have my forum path. That solved alot of my problems (also, after editing the cookie to .mydomain.com).

One lingering problem, images don't work unless they are stored in www/mydomain/images, instead of www/mydomain/forums/images
