Converting Forums index.php

Hi there

great work you guys are doing. I like the whole feature and presentation of things and definitely would like to use certain aspects.

I love the whole portal concept and would like to take site which needs to keep its HTML side of the site .. so index.html needs to stay

for the forums .. /forums/index.php .. I would like to convert that opening page to a vBadvanced portal system .. so that we have the columns on the right and left.

Would then like to add the Gallery etc ..

Is this possible, please?

ps. I sent an email to the webmaster, however I am led to believe the question should be asked here? If not, please inform me?

what happens, if I would like to keep our forum layout for the index.php page, but would like to add the left and right columns plus the footer, please?

Is there a way to add this or do I have to replace the opening index.php layout?
