Hi,

My old server died last weekend. I've restored a backup of the sites on a new similar server.

But now both sites suffer from strange CMPS problems:
1: The forum index is shown as if there is no CMPS
2: de index page of vBa links but also other pages named index.php stay blank.

I know that un installing and reinstalling fixes the problem, but in that case I need to redo all the page customisations. And one site has dozens of them. So I hope there is a fix for the problem.

Which site is it that you're having these issues on?

both www.simmerspaintshop.com and www.nederlandseluchtvaart.nl

I tried reinstalling on the second one, but vba links page (for example) keeps giving a blank page. just header and body tags nothing else in it.

Even when CMPS is not installed to the page(s) Tried uninstalling CMPS completely again, but also notice parts remain in the AdminCP.

Growing even more weird. I uninstalled vba Links through the product manager, then I want to install it again and even the install page stays blank.

Can it have to do with the fact that the new server has PHP and MySQL has version 5.x where the old one had 4.x?

Well,

Some more details
I keep SPS as steady as possible,as it is partially running again.
At NLV I mess around with installing and uninstalling.

On both sites the CMPS container around the forums/index.php didn't work. Other vBulleting pages do work, even around the blog.
vBaLinks and PhotoPlog give blank pages on all pages. For vBaLinks even the vbalinks_install.php stays blank on both sites. At NLV even when CMPS is completely uninstalled. A quick install and setting up a page for integration didn't work at all now.

I just installed a backup from the old server on the new server. And everything was running fine for years on the old server with these settings.

Only things that have changed are server paths which are slightly different, but I checked these. And like said before, PHP and MySQL are version 5 which was 4 at the old server.

At NLV I have vbSEO disabled, which makes no difference, where it normally does when vbSEO is part of the problem.

My conclusion so far is that CMPS is not the problem, but vBaLinks has the problem.

Check your CMPS Integration link in the Admin CP and see if you have a filename called index.php integrated. If so, remove the integration from that file and enter 'index' in the 'THIS_SCRIPT Integration Method' section instead.
If that doesn't help, please submit a support ticket via the Contact Us link at the bottom of any page and I'll take a look at things for you.

I'll have to look deeper into the integration. The forum index.php and all files from the vBaLinks don't show the CMPS layout, but their non integrated layout.
If I'm not able to fix that, I'll submit a ticket. First I'll restore the site that I messed up trying things, so it finally can start running.

About the blank pages:
The option to show error messages in the page is turned off on this server. My old server did not have that.
Here you can find hoe to turn them on by an edit in the vBulleting config.php
http://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/blank_pages

I also had the frontpage (cmps_index.php) gone blank. Cause: a module displayed on that page. And this module showed some info from another add-on which had blank pages.
