View Full Version : vB 3.8.4 Integration issues

I've successfully integrated the forums on previous versions of vB and vBA so assuming this is a 3.8.x issue?

I have the most recent build of vBA and vB (3.8.4)

You are currently running vBadvanced CMPS v3.2.1.

The latest version available is 3.2.1.

Your version of vBadvanced CMPS is up to date.

I read through 21 Pages of "How to..." which still didn't address my problem; yes I did a search and still came up with no real answers so I'm really sorry if this has been resolved elsewhere.

Here's my setup::
vB3.8 installed in community folder ( /community )
vBA installed in root ( /index.php )

The 'home page' shows up just fine and imports all the vB posts / users / etc as expected, however, everytime I try integrate any of the pages with any of the 3 methods; I get the same result which is an error of "Invalid File Specified".

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
dG

Where exactly are you receiving the 'Invalid File Specified' error at? If it's when adding the CMPS page for integration then it sounds like you're trying to add a PHP file page instead of a Module page as instructed in our guide.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the reply. The error pops up with any page specified to be integrated (eg: calendar). When going to /community/calendar.php I get the error.

The Integration 'page' has been created as a Module as per the guide.

Is it an issue with being in a non-standard folder (/community) or vBSEO perhaps?

(It's going to be something really arbitrary that I overlooked isn't it...) ;]

Thanks
dG

Are you sure the message says "Invalid file specified" and not "Invalid page specified"? "Invalid page" would be the only message that it should be possible to see on the front-end.
Assuming you're seeing "Invalid page", I'd suggest trying the integration again. Make sure that the CMPS page you're using has the 'Page Active' option set to 'Yes' and that the 'Usergroup Permissions' section is set correctly so groups have access to the page. If you still receive the error message on the pages you integrate, try disabling vBSEO via the 'Manage Products' link in your Admin CP just to make sure it's not causing any issues. Also, check the Admin CP => vBa CMPS => Diagnostics link to make sure it is not returning any errors.
FYI, the name of you forum folder would not have anything to do with the issue.

Hi there,

Sorry for the late reply; only been able to look into this again now...

Anyway; it appears that rebuilding module cache via the vBA Diagnostics page and rebuilding the forum information via the vB Diagnostics fixed this issue. Strange...

Thanks for the assistance!
