View Full Version : Testing new style on portal pages without offering to users?

Hi All

Is there a way to achieve this...?

I have two templates available on my site - one is my customised tMP theme and the other is the slightly modified vB default style. I allow members to select which template they want to use except on the home (vBA page) where I force the customised template.

I am now working on another template and I want to test this on the portal, but even if I type http://www.themouthpiece.com/index?styleid=n to try to force that style in the browser - it still opens in the tMP303 customised style. I would like some of my team to have a look and use the style before I offer it for general release.

Is this possible withouth allowing members to select it from the drop down?

John,

Did you make sure you don't have CMPS configured to be using "Default Style" instead "Use Default Style" in the page properties? As long as CMPS is defined to use the "Use Default Style" then you should be fine with what you're doing to specify the StyleID on the URL -- I do that all the time for my own testing. But, bear in mind, it seems that if a style is turned off to the public then it seems like only Admin's can specify the inactive styleid in the URL whereas the general public gets bounced back to the default style.
